In Nokia Lumia 520 speaker also known as ringer or buzzer is placed on the bottom back side of the mobile phones. It is used for listening to music, videos or when you activate loud speaker during the call. It can be damaged from any number of reasons like listening music on full high volume or if your phone is mishandled in some way like dropped.
Replacing the speaker module in Nokia Lumia 520 is pretty strait forward but if the speaker module is okay and you can’t listen to music or ringtones then it might be that the speaker connector springs are damaged. I have marked both of its jumper ways in this diagram.

The positive connection point marked with red line is connected to the jumper point number J2101 and L2153. The other point marked with the black line is connected to the jumper point number J2102 and L2154.
